What is Organized Chaos?
Organized Chaos is an executive functioning skills group for teens ages 11–14 who may feel capable and creative but struggle with the systems that help life run smoothly. Many kids in this age range are incredibly bright, but their brains are still developing the skills needed to organize tasks, manage time, and follow through on responsibilities.
This group helps teens learn how to work with their brain instead of constantly fighting against it. Through structured activities, discussion, and hands-on strategies, participants learn practical tools to manage school, responsibilities, and daily life in ways that feel realistic and achievable.
The middle school years are an ideal time to build these skills, especially before the increased academic and social demands of high school begin.
Common Signs Your Teen May Benefit From This Group
Many teens who benefit from executive functioning support may:
Struggle to start or finish homework
Frequently forget assignments or lose materials
Feel overwhelmed by multi-step tasks
Procrastinate until the last minute
Have difficulty organizing their backpack, room, or schedule
Become frustrated or shut down when tasks feel too big
Be very capable but have trouble following through
Experience stress around school expectations
For many teens, these struggles are not about intelligence or effort. They are often connected to executive functioning skills that are still developing, especially in kids with ADHD, anxiety, or learning differences.
