some days it shines.
This is how flowers grow.”
Meet Tiffany
CSW Intern from Louisiana State University
You may find yourself thinking, “I’m not smart enough. I’m not pretty enough. I’m not skinny enough or strong enough. I’ll never be good at anything. I’m a bad mother. I’m a bad father. I’m a bad son. I’m a bad daughter. I failed my family. I failed myself.” These are the kinds of thoughts that can silently shape the way we view ourselves. In moments of pain, insecurity, exhaustion, or comparison, these thoughts can feel overwhelmingly convincing. But thoughts are not always facts. Sometimes, they are rooted in fear, shame, societal pressure, past experiences, or unrealistic expectations we were never meant to carry.
Have you ever considered the origin of these thoughts? When did you begin doubting yourself? Why don’t you feel comfortable or confident in your own skin? Why does failure feel so frightening? Who are you beyond the expectations, labels, and self-criticism?
These are the kinds of thoughts and questions we can begin to unpack together.
Hi, my name is Tiffany. As a Clinical Social Work Intern, I understand that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience. I approach sessions through a culturally sensitive, person-centered, and trauma-informed lens rooted in compassion, empathy, and patience.
I work with individuals across the lifespan who are experiencing life transitions, depression, anxiety, stress, and emotional dysregulation. My goal is to create a safe, empowering, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel encouraged to explore their emotions, express themselves more fully, and embrace their authentic selves.
I use a variety of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing, to support clients in reaching their goals. If these modalities feel overwhelming or intimidating, we can also explore creative, art-based interventions.
I am currently completing my Master’s in Social Work through Louisiana State University. I have worked with individuals navigating substance use disorders, serious and persistent mental illness, and difficult life transitions. This experience has not only exposed me to diverse populations but has also deepened my understanding of the impact societal barriers can have on mental health.
My understanding of intersectionality informs my work with individuals experiencing varying forms of adversity related to race, gender, sexuality, disability, socioeconomic status, and other aspects of identity. I am passionate about providing affirming, culturally responsive care for BIPOC individuals, women, and LGBTQIA+ individuals who may be struggling to feel seen, heard, validated, and supported throughout life’s challenges.
I will be honored to be a part of your healing journey.

Passions
& Pursuits
Kayaking, nature walks, and picnics at the arboretum are some of my favorite things to do. I try to visit the botanical garden or arboretum at least once a month. I have recently become interested in learning about the different native flowers of North Carolina and their importance. I also love floral arrangements and have been researching a style of Japanese flower arrangement called Ikebana. I enjoy exploring different ways to incorporate the principles and skills of Ikebana into the floral arrangements I create for my home.
I also love planting different herbs and vegetables on my balcony. If I’m not planting or going on a nature stroll, I’m probably starting a new arts and crafts project. I enjoy creating expressionist-style mosaics, painting rocks, learning to draw, and dancing with my daughter.
People often assume that I would enjoy romance or comedy films and books, but I actually prefer the complete opposite. I enjoy watching true crime documentaries and reading mystery and thriller books. One of my favorite pastimes is couch-rotting and binge-watching true crime docuseries and psychological thrillers. I especially enjoy psychological thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat.
