Investing in Meaningful, Personalized Care

At Hope Crest Counseling, we believe therapy should be both accessible and deeply impactful. We offer a combination of insurance-based services and self-pay options, allowing you to choose the level of care that best fits your needs, goals, and preferences.

Using Insurance

If you choose to use insurance, your sessions will be guided by:

  • Your specific plan and coverage

  • Medical necessity requirements

  • Insurance-approved service structures

Insurance can be a helpful way to reduce out-of-pocket costs. At the same time, it’s important to understand that insurance companies:

  • Determine which services are covered

  • Require a mental health diagnosis

  • May limit session frequency, length, or type

  • Do not always cover certain services (such as extended sessions, some family work, or specialized support)

Our team works within these guidelines while still providing thoughtful, high-quality care.

Self-Pay (Private Pay)

Self-pay offers a more flexible, personalized, and in-depth experience.

When using self-pay, we are able to:

  • Tailor sessions fully to your needs without insurance restrictions

  • Spend time more freely on what matters most to you

  • Integrate multiple approaches (creative interventions, family involvement, skills work, etc.)

  • Offer more flexibility in session length, frequency, and focus

  • Avoid the need for a formal diagnosis if not clinically necessary

Many clients choose self-pay when they are looking for:

  • Deeper personal growth

  • More collaborative and individualized care

  • Greater privacy and autonomy in their treatment

Understanding Your Options

A Balanced Approach

Some clients choose to combine both options—using insurance for individual sessions while engaging in self-pay services for:

  • Extended or intensive sessions

  • Specialized groups

  • Family or parent-focused work

  • Workshops or skill-building experiences

This allows for both affordability and depth, depending on what feels most supportive at each stage of your journey.

Our Commitment to You

No matter which option you choose, our approach remains the same:

  • Warm, relational, and trauma-informed

  • Focused on connection, growth, and empowerment

  • Grounded in evidence-based and creative interventions

We are happy to help you understand your benefits, explore your options, and find a path that feels both financially manageable and clinically meaningful.

Your Pathways…

Flexible options to support both your care and your comfort

There is no “right” choice—only what feels right for you. Some clients prefer to use insurance for affordability.
Others choose self-pay for greater flexibility, privacy, or depth.

We believe therapy should feel accessible, supportive, and aligned with your needs—both emotionally and financially.

Here is a simple guide to help you understand your options:

Using Insurance

A structured, benefit-based approach

  • 💵 Lower out-of-pocket cost
Typically a copay or coinsurance, $10–$75/session depending on your plan)

  • 📋 Diagnosis required
Insurance requires a mental health diagnosis for coverage

  • 🧭 Guided by your plan
Session length, frequency, and types of services may be limited

  • 🛡️ Shared information
Insurance receives details related to diagnosis and can request treatment plans

Self-Pay (Private Pay)

A more flexible, personalized experience

  • 💵 Standard session fees
    $180 (60-minute session)
    $200 (initial intake session)

  • 🌱 No diagnosis required
    Unless clinically appropriate

  • 🧠 More individualized care
Sessions can focus on growth, relationships, identity, or life transitions

  • 🔓 Greater flexibility
Includes options for extended sessions, creative approaches, and tailored pacing

  • 🤍 Enhanced privacy
Information is not shared with insurance
